Virat Kohli, the star Indian batsman, may miss Delhi's forthcoming Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra due to a neck ailment. The sixth Elite Group D match between Delhi and Saurashtra is scheduled to take place in Rajkot from January 23 to 26. Kohli reportedly had a neck sprain and even received an injection to try to prevent it.

As per a senior DDCA official, Kohli’s name will most likely be added to the squad with “subject to availability" next to it.
Even if he doesn't play in the Ranji Trophy match, Kohli, who last represented Delhi in 2012, might train with his teammates in Rajkot.
The Delhi team will train for two days prior to the match before departing for Rajkot on Monday, January 20.
In addition to confirming his availability for the Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra, star Indian batsman-wicket keeper Rishabh Pant is also anticipated to play in the team's second game against Railways, according to some DDCA officials.
All Indian players are required to participate in domestic matches by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
"According to BCCI regulations, players must play in domestic matches in order to continue being eligible for central contracts and selection in the national team."
