Pat Cummins' comment on Sunday that he wouldn't want to bowl against the powerful left-hander because "it's scary" was the greatest compliment the Indian star has ever heard.
Abhishek Sharma, who is batting with a strike rate of 209.41 in the Indian elite League this season, earned the greatest praise of his life on Sunday when he was told by elite bowler Pat Cummins that bowling to the powerful left-hander would be "scary." Abhishek, the bowler's captain at Sunrisers Hyderabad, Cummins, has scared bowlers in this season of the league. He scorched to a 28-ball 66 as SRH defeated Punjab Kings by four wickets. With five balls remaining, the fresh-faced left-hander struck six sixes and five fours as SRH easily defeated Punjab Kings' 215 target.
"Abhishek is very remarkable. I have no desire to bowl him over. The fast bowler from Australia stated, "It's scary because he plays with freedom, not only against pacers but also against spinners," during the post-match press conference.
The 23-year-old, who plays domestic cricket for Punjab, has been in incredible form this season, amassing 467 runs at a strike rate of over 210 from 13 matches, with 39 sixes and 35 fours struck.
Nitish Reddy, who batted at No. 4 and struck an important 37 off 25 balls, was also praised by Cummins.
"Nitish is a class player, matured beyond his age, seems to sum up the game really well, he is perfect for our top-order," he stated.
It's been fantastic and wonderful. Before this season, I didn't know many players, but we've had an excellent time and played some fantastic cricket. Fantastic group of men," Cummins continued.
With this victory, SRH is still on track to place in the top two, which will offer them an additional chance to go to the championship game.
"It has been fantastic and outstanding; we have won five of the last seven games here. It's incredibly thrilling and fulfilling. We are playing some very strong cricket, and I've never played in the finals. I'm thrilled about what's coming up," Cummins remarked.
Lara's batting advice is quite helpful: Abhishek
Working with batting great Brian Lara, who was formerly associated with the team, has really benefited Abhishek, he stated.
"He's in touch; we've worked together on several projects. That's currently assisting me," Abhishek remarked.
His three half-centuries this season have come off the slowest pace of 21 balls, which summed up his bellicosity.
Abhishek scored his previous two fifties off 19 balls against the Lucknow SuperGiants and 16 balls against the Mumbai Indians.
"I should use my days, which are going well, for my team. Since the goal was high today, I wanted to help.
