Many people think that, should CSK lose against RCB in a game that is important for both teams, MS Dhoni's time in the profitable league may come to an end if they are not able to make it to the playoffs.
Captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, may play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after this season, according to former wicket keeper-batter Robin Uthappa. Due to injuries that have restricted his IPL involvement over the past several seasons, there has been some confusion about Dhoni's future in the league. Many thought that, should CSK lose to RCB in a match that would decide both teams' fates, Dhoni's final appearance in the lucrative league would be in the playoffs. Clarity on the subject hasn't emerged even after the match.
"Is this the final MS run? Personally, I do not believe that to be the case. Do they wish to ruin RCB's celebration, though? Without a doubt. I believe Ruturaj would like to make it to the championship round in his first year leading the team. That will give him and CSK a great boost in confidence. It's a long-term investment. Before the game on Jio Cinema began, Uthappa had stated, "Let's see where that goes."
In order to take the spot next to the Super Kings in the top four, RCB had to win by a minimum of 18 runs if they were batting first or by a minimum of 18.1 overs if they were chasing 200 runs. They advanced to the playoffs after winning by a final score of 27 runs.
